A Personal Message from Jack Ogilvie

Dear local resident,

I wish to seek your support for a further term as your local ward councillor.
Being a local councillor can be exciting, uplifting and, at times, damn hard work! I love meeting people, and being involved and working with the local community, so we can get things done together.

This forthcoming election (March 2003), it is important to choose a capable and committed person — someone who understands Sunbury and its rural region.

Since I became your ward councillor I have raised many hundreds of issues, such as fixing (or adding) footpaths and roundabouts, landscape improvements, new roadworks throughout the ward (examples include improvements to Elizabeth Drive/Riddell Road, Lancefield Road and Francis Boulevard).

One major project that will happen in this next term is the sporting opportunities for a major council reserve – approx. 30 acres – in Lancefield Road. I have worked with the Sunbury East Sporting Group to develop a Master Plan which will see a new football/cricket ground, tennis courts and buildings for other sports to have use of this area.

Other projects I have raised on council (and are now in the capital works program for the next council term) include the master plan for the development of the Sunbury Aquatic Centre, extensions to the Boardman stadium, pavement treatment and landscape works in Sunbury's town centre. I'm seeking your support to continue to advocate for these projects and other new projects for Sunbury.

There is so much I still wish to achieve for Sunbury, and this is the reason, with the blessing of my family, I have decided to seek your support for a further term.

With your support I will be able to continue to be your voice for a better future, and continue my fight to make Sunbury a better place for our families to live.
